How Much Money Do You Waste on Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements?

vitameatavegaminAmericans spend billions of dollars every year on vitamins, minerals, and supplements.  Even though some are useful and helpful, the majority are of little or no value.

In fact, some vitamins, minerals and supplements, taken in the wrong quantities, might even be harmful. A healthier diet might be all you need to get the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to lose weight and improve health. Also, the money saved could possibly be better used to pay off burdensome debt.  Vitamins don’t reduce stress, but reducing debt does.

It’s very important to check with your doctor before you take or consider taking a pill of any kind.

Here are 4 suggestions that might help you free up a few dollars to pay off debt, help you lose weight, and improve overall health:

  1. Eat a variety of whole, healthy, nutritious foods.  This alone could help you eliminate any need you might have for vitamins, minerals, and supplements.  You might save money and lose weight. Studies have shown that a healthy diet eliminates the need for most vitamins, minerals, and supplements.
  2.  Reducing debt is healthier than wasting money on useless pills. There is probably nothing that would reduce stress and anxiety more than paying off burdensome debt with money saved on unnecessary supplements or non-essential alternative medicine of any kind.
  3. Review with your doctor the vitamins, minerals and supplements you are currently taking to see if you should continue taking.
  4. Review with your doctor any vitamins, minerals, or supplements you are considering taking before you start using them.

Again, the biggest factor in making sure you have the vitamins, minerals, and supplements you need is to try to improve the quality of the food you eat. That should be an easy pill to swallow.

And being a little skinnier and debt free will make it easier to make the medicine go down.
