The Skinny on Urine and Debt

toilet moneyAmericans spend over 70 million dollars year on soft drinks. That makes us the largest soft drink consuming country in the entire world. How much money are you throwing away by drinking these products? Cutting out soft drinks can save you money and help you live a healthier life.

Soft drinks have steadily increased in price. Despite a decrease in the number of soft drinks sold, the monetary sales have increased almost two percent in the last year. The average American drinks at least one soft drink a day. At $1.50 per soda, we are spending almost $600 a year. That kind of money could make a serious dent in your debt.

Saving money isn’t the only benefit of cutting soft drinks out of your life. Sodas average 180 calories per serving. That number is lower for diet drinks but there are other ingredients that may hinder weight loss. Artificial sweetener in diet sodas has been linked to metabolic syndromes that will increase belly fat and the risk of heart problems.

The cheapest, healthiest alternative to soft drinks is water. Bottled water can become costly but tap water is cheap and contains many beneficial minerals. Tap water contains fluoride that can brighten your smile. You’ve all heard that you should drink 6-8 eight ounce glasses of water a day. This water keeps your cells and joints functioning properly. Drinking 64 ounces of water a day burns 200 calories and flushes toxins out of your system.

Steer clear of the sugar filled drinking option. You could be consuming empty calories and flushing all your hard earned cash down the toilet. Choosing water will save you money and help your body function smoothly.
